Rust Applications

Most vehicles are susceptible to rust. Oxidation causes rust via a chemical reaction in which water and oxygen interact with the steel. The corrosion process of metals speeds up when exposed to climate and salt which turns into iron oxide or rust. Rust begins to blisters and over time increase resulting in the oxidation process. Rust will spread, eating away at the metal and will lead to substantial vehicle damage.  

 
Understanding what causes rust on cars and taking proactive measures can help keep your vehicle running well for years. By prepping and treating, this will prolong the vehicle. The application is all down to the prepping first, like anything if you don't prep probably then there's no point putting paint on!
Below are some of the tools we use to prep.

Types of applications we offer:

When the vehicle comes into us for an application, we strip down the vehicle wheels, exhaust, any undertrays, side steps, plastic guards in the arches. We can take off bumpers at extra cost if customer would like the chassis to be treated behind these.

Once stripped down we steam clean and degrease the vehicle ready for the prepping. Prepping is the most important part to the application. Here we will prep the vehicle with wire wheel and needle gun, we do advise that its at this point where we will find the corrosion damage. Any corrosion found we will contact the owner to discuss repair and additional costs.

 

 

Once vehicle has been prepped, it is then masked up ready for painting. Body, prop shaft, engine bay and brakes are all covered.

Types of applications:

BlackIT: is a tough, dry black wax oil. Can be used with rust encapsulator (extra cost) but usually put straight onto the vehicle.

Premium WAR: This is our most popular application. With this, the vehicle is applied in rust encapsulator and War. Again the vehicle is stripped, steam cleaned, prepped then painted.

Rust Encapsulator combats corrosion, its a high adhesion primer.

 



War is a tough, impact and abrasive resistant underbody coating. WAR ha a number of unique features that ensure it will outlast a wet wax, and most coatings.
  • Self heals/resists damage
  • Deflects road dirt, salts and debris
  • Highly resistant to pressure washing, road salt spray and harsh environments.
  • Resistant to many chemicals in reasonable concentrations.
  • Deeply penetrates rust
  • Infused with vapour phase inhibition, expelling local air and creating an air barrier around the coating

With both applications, inside chassis, sills and crossmembers are treated with cavity wax.

FXLiner: We have done a few axles where the customer has asked for soild. Axles sent off for sandblasting, primed then coated in FXLiner.

Fxliner is a tough, super resilient UV resistant Bedliner. Made from a custom 2 component Polyurethane blend, designed specifically for resilience.
