80/105 Landcruiser - Steering box brace kit

A known weak point in the 80/105 Series Landcruisers, is the chassis where the steering box mounts, as well as the top section of the panhard mount. We have seen many completely stock Cruisers with cracks in this area. Unfortunately once you start adding lifts, bigger tyres & some offroad abuse, this issue only becomes more apparent.

This kit covers all areas that are prone to fatigue, making it the perfect method of prevention or cure.

Don't be fooled by running smaller tyres or smaller lift, this is an unfortunate design flaw in the chassis design, it can happen to a vehicle running bog stock suspension and tyres!

Moderate level of skill required for fitment and\or repair. any existing cracks in the area MUST be repaired properly before putting brace plates on.

Inner chassis plate behind steering box has been designed to be slightly taller than the chassis rail, allowing this top edge to be welded from the outside which is a much easier position to access from.

This 5 piece plate kit braces both the inner & outer chassis rail, As well as the panhard mount.

- x4 Replacement bolts.

We also offer just the Panhard Gussets, For those already with existing steering box plates.

PLASMA CUT PARTS

Plasma cutting will leave a thin layer of nitrate on the cut edge of the plate. To assist with obtaining the best possible weld on construction, this layer of nitrate needs to be cleaned or ground off. If not cleaned up it can be similar to welding over thin paint. All welded options ordered are all cleaned in house before welding, we suggest doing the same with flat pack orders.
